Casting in jewelry is the process in which molten metal is introduced into a mold to form a piece or part of jewelry. The following is a very brief outline of what the class would consist of if you cast your wedding bands. Casting will require multiple visits to the studio.

Design your ring: Casting will allow you to create more flexibility in ring designs than you would be able to fabricate on your own. |

Sprues are passages through which the molten metal will flow to reach your ring. |

The wax models are invested in plaster. |

The plaster mold is allowed to dry then is slowly heated to over 1000°. |

The metal is melted and forced into the mold. |
