Cast an engagement ring
Casting in jewelry is the process in which molten metal is introduced into a mold to form a piece or part of jewelry. The following is a very brief outline of what the class would consist of if you cast an engagement ring. Casting will require multiple visits to the studio.

Design your ring: Casting will allow you to create wild designs you may not be able to fabricate on your own.
A wax model is made of your ring. This photo is of a sprue - a passage through which the molten metal will flow to reach your ring.
The wax models are invested in plaster.
The plaster mold is allowed to dry then is slowly heated to over 1350°.
The metal is melted and forced into the mold.

Clean, polish and set the stone.
